It's so weird to consider that it's almost the end of the school year. I think it just feels unbelievable because we've been home for so long with much less interaction with our students than normal.
I have put off going into my classrooms. My middle school room will be a breeze to clean up. I was told they aren't moving my room so that really means I can just pack everything into the cabinet, label my personal table so they can take it out for cleaning and that's that. I don't even have to take anything off the walls. I can probably finish that room in 2-3 hours.
My elementary room, however, is going to take longer. There is a ton of junk in there that was left by the previous occupant that I just wasn't in the mood to deal with in August (I mean I dealt with a lot but I also put a ton of it into the closets and called it a life). That room is going to be so weird because my calendar still says "March" and by the time I set foot in there again, it will be June.
So weird. As of this moment, I think I will have 3 schools next year (two elementary and the middle school). As the elementary I had this year is absorbing another building, I think that both of my elementary schools may have their reading block in the morning. That would make it awesome for my schedule because I could be at the middle school in the morning and my elementaries in the afternoon and only have to worry about working around encores which is much easier than trying to work around a 90 minute block that can't be interrupted.
Of course, it's all up in the air because we have no idea what school is going to look like. Of course it would be amazing if we could go back to 100% in person instruction....but the likelihood of that, right now, is small, at least for the fall.
So as I pack up my rooms, I will have to contend with the fact that I have NO IDEA what the fall will bring and what may or may not happen between now and then.
What a weird school year!
